Going somewhere without a camera is unfathomable to me. For years it was a question of identity, I’m a photographer therefore I travel with a camera. It was an almost audible click when the switch in my head was reset. Since then I threw out my simple answer for hauling a camera with me, and now I know it is a matter of organising the world around me through the viewfinder until I gain some sort of understanding of it.
